Cancers are far more variable on a molecular level than they appear under the microscope. Yet many physicians continue to treat most cancers based on their appearance, with all patients receiving standardized treatment protocols validated in large clinical trials. Given the spectacular progress in cancer genomics and computational / systems biology we should be able to do better.
A host of new genomic technologies have emerged over the last decade that allow a large amount of molecular information to be generated quickly and economically from a small amount of a patient’s tumor sample. These technologies generated huge excitement and expectations that they would transform patient care, but the results have been disappointing. We believe that the problem was not due to a failure of technology, but rather the challenges of interpreting the vast amount of data that emerges from these full-genome technologies. CollabRx researchers analyze vast amounts of data from each patient’s tumor to predict which proteins are the most effective targets and to identify available regimens to inhibit them.
For the patient who wants to leave no stone unturned, CollabRx brings today’s best science and technologies to bear on their individual cancer. For the physician, we provide deep insights into the biology driving a patient’s tumor together with specific therapeutic recommendations that can be integrated into the patient’s treatment plan.
